Walkability Policies in Developing Countries: What Do People Need and Prefer in Iran?

Examining the willingness to pay (WTP) in implementation of walkability policies can indicate needs and preferences individuals. Consequently, better defined individual lead successful sustainable transportation plans. While there is an extensive literature discussing WTP transportation, they mostly focus on developed countries, this issue has not been adequately studied for developing especially Middle East. This study aims determine users countries their paying implement policies. To aim, 384 surveys were conducted Karaj city, Iran, using contingent valuation method (CVM). The its contextual criteria (household’s cost, demography, economic class) (safety, accessibility, network design, social) examined PLS-SEM with 1000 resamples through SEMinR package R programming language. results show that 46% participants willing extra taxes Furthermore, structural model indicates safety, social, spatial, accessibility are most important factors, respectively, predict a positive direction.
